A top security adviser to Syrian President Bashar Al-Asad was assassinated under mysterious circumstances in northern Syria Friday night.according to Arab media reports on Sunday.
The officer allegedly in charge of “sensitive files” Pan Arab Al Hayat newspaper quoted “well-informed” sources as saying. Another report on Lebanon's Future News television station identified the officer as Brigadier General Mohammad Suleiman , a military aide to President Bashar Al Assad.
"I have not read the report and I am not familiar with the name {Muhammad Suleiman}," Gen. Ahmad Munir Muhammad, a member of the Syria's National Security Council, told The press. Muhammad further said the adviser's name was never mentioned in the Syrian media.
The Arab media as a whole has not focused on the incident and no official response was given to the report.
