Syria Libraries

The first establishment of Damascus University, was represented by the institute of Arabic Medicine in 1903.
In 1956, the library of Damascus University moved to its new building which the central library of Damascus University is founded now. It included books, Periodicals and the whole contents of Universities` Faculties.

In the beginning of 70s each faculty had its own library according to the nature of studying in which it is able to serve the teaching staff and students in each faculty. Recently, the library of Damascus University has become the center for the Directorate of the Universities` Libraries and for the central Library of Damascus University.
